House of Hawkins Welcome to House of Hawkins, centrally located on historic Foss Street in Dartmouth. With a background in military tailoring he very soon made a success of it.

We are a third generation, family owned business and celebrated our 30th anniversary in Dartmouth in 2012. It was in 1920 that Arthur John Riley opened a mens outfitters and tailors shop in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. In the late 1940’s Arthurs son Michael Hawkins Riley joined the family business and was responsible for moving to a much larger shop right in the heart of Nuneaton. It was on a holiday t

o Devon that Michael visited Dartmouth and decided that not only did he want to live there but he wanted to open a shop there also. In April 1982 his plans became a reality when, with his son Simon, he opened House of Hawkins in historic Foss Street. Styles change through the years, but our commitment to providing men of all ages with a wide selection of top quality clothing has never wavered. We carefully select our stock from leading British, Italian, and German brands with a track record of quality and outstanding design. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff look forward to your next visit in the shop.
