💚 GOODNIGHT FROM DCH 💚

And just like that, another weekend is coming to an end.

We hope you’ve had a lovely Sunday and managed to find a little time to relax, recharge or spend time with the people who matter.

Just a reminder that DCH will be CLOSED tomorrow for the Bank Holiday, so our team can enjoy the extra day too.

We’ll be back open as normal on Tuesday. 💚

Sometimes the biggest difference you can make in somebody’s life comes from the smallest act of kindness. 💚

A conversation.
A smile.
A donated item.
A cup of tea.
Giving somebody your time.
Simply asking, “Are you okay?”

You might forget about it five minutes later, but for the person receiving that kindness, it could be exactly what they needed that day.

That’s the kind of community we want to keep building here in Darwen. One where people look out for each other. 💚

Sunday always feels like a chance to reset before another week begins. Whether you’re heading out for the day, spending time with family, getting the house sorted or doing absolutely nothing at all, we hope you have a lovely one.

We’ve got another busy week ahead at DCH and plenty going on behind the scenes too, so today is all about recharging those batteries ready to go again tomorrow! 💚

💛🖤 SAFE STEPS DARWEN – WE’RE ALMOST THERE! 🖤💛

I can finally share the update we have been waiting so patiently for…

We have now received official confirmation that our funding will be cleared next week! 🙌

This means we can FINALLY give the go-ahead for our Safe Steps Darwen equipment to be ordered and start turning everything we have worked so hard on into reality.

There has been so much happening behind the scenes to get us to this point. Meetings, planning, paperwork, training, designing, organising volunteers and working alongside our partners to make sure Safe Steps Darwen is ready to provide a safe, supportive place for people during nights out in our town.

At times it has felt like we were so close, yet still waiting for that final piece of the puzzle.

Now it’s happening. 💛

Once our equipment is ordered and we have confirmation of when everything will be ready, we can finally start looking towards that all-important LAUNCH DATE! 🖤

A massive thank you to everyone who has supported this project, believed in what we are trying to achieve and patiently waited alongside us.

And to our incredible volunteers… get ready! 💛🖤

It genuinely means so much to see our community continuing to grow. Thank you for following us, supporting what we do, sharing our posts and being part of the DCH community. 💛

I also want to apologise to anyone who messaged yesterday and hasn’t received a response. I had to travel to the North East due to a family emergency, so I wasn’t available to respond.

I will be catching up with all messages when I’m back on Monday. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding. ❤️

🎄 YORK CHRISTMAS MARKET TRIP UPDATE 🎄

We are now officially FULLY BOOKED! ❤️🎄

Even after upgrading to a bigger coach, every single place has now been taken. The response has been absolutely incredible, so thank you so much to everyone who has booked.

I’m really sorry to those of you who have only just seen the posts about the trip. For some reason Facebook hasn’t shown the posts to everybody, and I know there are still quite a few people who would love to come.

I have written down the names of everyone who has commented or contacted me wanting a place. If anybody who is currently booked can no longer come, I will contact people in the order they expressed an interest and offer the available places.

I will also keep an eye on numbers. If we end up with enough additional interest and I’m able to arrange an even bigger coach closer to the time, I will absolutely look into it and contact those who are waiting.

For now though, we are officially FULL! 🎉

Thank you so much for the amazing response. I honestly cannot wait for us all to experience beautiful York at Christmas together. 🎄✨❤️

🎄 YORK CHRISTMAS MARKET UPDATE! 🎄

Wow! Even after upgrading to a bigger coach, we now only have 5 PLACES LEFT! 😱❤️

The response to this trip has been absolutely amazing and I’m so excited that so many of you will be joining us for a beautiful festive day in York. 🎄✨

If you’ve been thinking about coming along, please don’t leave it too late because once these final 5 places are gone, we are FULL!

And remember, if you’re coming alone, you are more than welcome to join us. You might get on the coach alone, but you certainly don’t have to spend the day alone. ❤️

Had a fantastic meeting with PCSO Mark Dixon last night, working on a very exciting future project…

Apparently things got a little out of hand though, because next thing I knew, they’d called in the SWAT team! 😂🚔
