This cloth by Dugdale Bros & Co called cascade has a beautiful texture and a heavy feel whilst being cool to wear in the warmer months. It comes in all variety of colours too.

It’s now time to think about your Autumn/Winter garments but keep this cloth in mind for Summer 2027 for sure 👌

The DB waistcoat appreciation club 😎

It’s classic and it’s elegant but yet it’s still not seen very much. Unless you work with me ☺️ then it’s my “house style” (something I’d encourage you to try).

An SB waistcoat is always a safe bet, but make it double breasted and enjoy the difference it makes. A lower break to show more shirt and tie. More drama with added button details and throw in another lapel to stand out when the jacket is removed.

The elegance of the Father (of the bride or groom).

Paul (pictured) gives a masterclass in how to dress to stand out but not by shouting too loud. This stunning three piece semi bespoke suit speaks for itself! What a colour. It also included a fun waistcoat lining too.

Who says all wedding suits have to be navy or grey?! I’m not afraid to add some colour into a celebration that welcomes it.

From start to finish. Swipe to see the final outcome.

Striking and cutting out a two piece double breasted suit, cloth by Huddersfield Fine Worsteds and the finished piece. This suit and travelled back and forth from Scotland for fittings and I couldn’t be happier with the final outcome.

Work in progress.

This bespoke DB coat (part of a two piece suit) is finished by the coat maker (tailor) and is ready to be handed to the finisher. The finisher will hand stitch the edges, fell all the internal linings and hand sew the button holes. A painstaking process that requires patience and skill.

Once the garment is “finished out” it’s then on to the presser to be pressed into shape and then ready for the final fitting.

Bespoke tailoring is a labour of love and takes time to create real beauty.

Braces appreciation post

No matter what you may think of how they look, braces offer the best trouser fitting in my opinion. More space through the waist, elongating the leg and allowing the trouser to curve over the seat into the small of the back.

Those who have or will come to me for a suit will know the braces speech very well. I swear by it. And so do my customers.

The internal piping to match the separate trouser 👌

The buttons match on both the jacket and trouser. By adding a contrasting but complimentary button on the suit jacket, it allows for a sports jacket feel when separated out.
