Airman Vest MK5
Special Project No.16
Made by hand in our hometown of Derby, UK, using thoughtfully sourced authentic workwear, military, utility and vintage surplus materials, combined with premium, rare deadstock cloth. We only rework small batches to a very high standard, that are individually numbered and dated. Each piece is unique with it’s own history and story to tell.
Original British 1990s RAF thermal liners, reworked in our home town of Derby in 2026 to create the Airman Vest MK5.
Each vest begins life as an authentic RAF liner. Using a unique pattern cutting process, every liner is carefully cut by hand to create the individual panels. It’s a slow, labour-intensive process, but one that allows us to make the most of these original garments and give them a completely new purpose.
The panels are then stitched and bound individually on vintage industrial machines, many of which have been in use for decades. The result is a distinctive modern heritage piece, with original military history running through every stitch.
The vest features two lower pockets, an outer chest pocket and an inner chest pocket, all bar-tacked for added strength and longevity.
A British made two-way zip allows for versatile styling, whether worn as a stand-alone piece or as layered piece in colder times.
Made in Derby, UK. Small batch production, individually reworked from original RAF liners.
Each vest is individually numbered and dated with our special project label, marking its place within this limited series.
