Freelance Drapes Production Assistant🪡🧵🧶 – Alfreton, Derbyshire 📌

Are you an experienced machinist with a passion for creating high-quality fabric work?
We’re looking for talented freelancers to join our busy sewing workroom at Drapemakers.

You’ll be working with industrial sewing machines, overlockers and other workroom equipment to manufacture theatrical drapes and bespoke fabric items for the live events and entertainment industries.

We’re looking for:

• Experience using industrial sewing machines – essential
• Excellent precision and attention to detail
• Ability to handle large and sometimes heavy fabrics
• Someone who thrives in a fast-paced workroom environment
• Live events/theatre experience – desirable
• Flexibility to work at customer venues – desirable

Based in Alfreton, Derbyshire, this is a great opportunity to work as part of a skilled manufacturing team producing work for the world of theatre and live events.

We’re usually Drapemakers, but we swapped drapes for capes when our friends at the ABTT Theatre Show wanted to surprise the brilliant David Evans.

We had great fun creating the cape and attending the brilliant ABTT Show. We also had the pleasure of creating some upholstered seat cushions for Steeldeck Rentals exhibition stand. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our stand to chat about all thing’s drapery. See you again next year!
