Sorry for the long post everyone, I just wanted to take some time as we are getting closer to opening to let everyone know how Blossom’s came to be and how we work.

Blossom’s Play Café is a welcoming space for families with young children to relax, play and connect. Our mission is to provide a safe, fun and engaging environment where little ones can explore and enjoy creative play, while grown-ups can take a well-earned break, enjoy a coffee, bite to eat and socialise in the comfort of the knowledge that their little one is entertained and in an environment they too can have fun.

As a mum of six children of all different ages, I know firsthand how challenging it can be to find anywhere that truly cater to families with young children. Over the years, I have experienced the stress of trying to enjoy a simple meal out while constantly worrying if the children are being too noisy, if they needed to get up and move or if we were bothering other customers. That feeling of dread when they won’t sit still – or worse when you just want a five-minute chat with a friend but can’t relax for a second.

I opened Blossom’s Play Café because I wanted to create the kind of space I always wished existed – somewhere warm, welcoming, and understanding of what it’s really like to have little ones. A place where children are free to play and explore, and be themselves, while parents and carers can enjoy a coffee, connect with others and feel completely at ease knowing the children are happy and safe.

Blossoms is a space built from real experience, with real families in mind. Whether you are popping in for a snack, meeting up with friends or just want a change of scenery, we are here to make life a little easier and a lot more fun.

How it works

At Blossom’s Play Café, we charge a small admission fee which includes entry for one child and one adult. Sibling discounts are available, additional adults can join for a small extra charge. As we are a cozy venue with limited space, the fee helps us maintain a safe, comfortable environment by keeping numbers manageable at all times.

Your admission includes a two-hour stay, with the flexibility to book a table at a time that works best for you – we don’t run set play sessions. To keep our space fresh and inviting, the play area will briefly close for around 15 minutes twice daily for a clean and toy reset – the café will remain open.

The play area is aimed at 0-4 year olds with a separate baby area. Older siblings are more than welcome in the cafe area, however, due to the size of the play area and to ensure the safety of the younger children, they will not be allowed in the play area.

We always recommend booking in advance to guarantee your spot and avoid disappointment, however, walk-ins are very welcome if we have a table available.

It’s been a week of emotional goodbyes, with so many of my lovely Mama’s and their little ones heading off to nursery, school, or back to work. 💕

There have definitely been a few tears (mine included!) — your kind messages honestly still make me well up. 🥹

Running my own messy play business isn’t always easy, but it’s without doubt one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done. I’m so grateful to every single one of you who books onto classes and to everyone who takes the time to send such thoughtful words of encouragement.

September is just around the corner, and I can’t wait for an amazing autumn term filled with messy, magical fun! 🍂✨

What it’s REALLY like running a messy play business… 👀

But… 💚 seeing children light up as they pour, squish, splash, and create makes every second worth it.

It’s chaos. It’s exhausting. It’s messy.
And honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way.
