I can’t believe this darling boy turns 4 tomorrow!

He’s wearing the jumper that I started when travelling on the Silk Road, when we were stuck in that Turkish village with nothing to do but wait for the truck to be rescued from the cliff edge!

It was originally a scarf but I got so bored doing fine stockinet stitch, so I ended up learning to add more textures. Then when L was born I decided to turn it into a jumper, and dared to make a hole in it for the neck hole, then added the sleeves. It was definitely an evolving project this one.

Everything that we make by hand has a story and memories attached. Happy birthday dear A!

Happy Imbolc/Candlemas 🌱✨
My little snowdrop baby is enjoying his special bun from kindergarten.

We planted our candles we made into the earth to warm up the bulbs, for Spring is on the way! It was beautiful to see the little flames twinkling like stars across the orchard as the children left. Inside the buns we ‘planted a bulb’, actually a date/apricot. Such a sweet and beautiful festival. The children were filled with joy and excitement!

Oh, and A is wearing the jumper I made… all the children dressed in green and white, like little snowdrops.
