🧵💜 WHAT AN AMAZING DAY! 💜🧵

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came along and supported our Sew Strong Craft Fair today. It was fantastic to see so many people through the doors, enjoying the craft stalls, meeting people and supporting what the Sew Strong project is all about. 🥰

👏 A massive thank you to our incredible team of volunteers who worked so hard throughout the day to make sure everything ran smoothly, we really couldn’t do events like this without you! ❤️

🎉 OUR CRAFT FAIR IS TOMORROW! 🎉

Join us Saturday 29th August, 10am – 2pm at Sew Mindful Crafts for our Summer Craft Fair & Sew Strong Showcase! 🧵✂️💜

The event is also a chance to showcase some of the fantastic work taking place through our Sew Strong Project, funded by Weston Park Cancer Charity, supporting people whose lives have been affected by cancer through creativity, connection and wellbeing.

💜 We will have a dedicated Weston Park stall, with items made through the project, and money raised from this stall will be donated back to Weston Park Cancer Charity.

We’ve had an amazing amount of interest in the event, so we’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone through the doors!

🎨 That’s a wrap on our Children’s Summer Workshops! 🧵✨

Yesterday we delivered the final workshop of our summer programme, finishing off with some fantastic Button Art! ❤️

Funded through the Universal Fund by Doncaster Council, we were able to offer 150 FREE spaces across a range of creative workshops and amazingly, every space was booked within just a couple of days!

Across the programme we welcomed 127 attendances, which we think is absolutely fantastic. 🙌

A huge thank you to Doncaster Council for making these workshops possible, and most importantly, thank you to every child and young person who came along, got creative, learnt new skills and made the workshops such a success.

We hope you all enjoyed them as much as we did! 😊🧵🎨

💙 THE MEN’S DEN WHAT A GREAT NIGHT! 💙

It was a busy one this evening with 16 guys through the doors, including plenty of familiar faces and 2 new guys joining us for the first time. 👏

This is exactly why we do The Men’s Den , a relaxed place to get out of the house, have a brew, a chat, a game of pool or darts and spend a couple of hours with a good bunch of people.

Our Sew Strong project, funded by Weston Park Cancer Charity, provides free sewing and craft workshops for people whose lives have been affected by cancer, whether directly or indirectly.

Lots of creativity, conversation and support happening in the workshop this morning. 💜

UPDATE: Thank you to the powers of social media and our amazing followers and all their support, the scones are sorted 😁

We’ve just found out today that our usual supplier no longer makes scones! 😩

We’re looking for somewhere local where we could get a supply of fresh tasty scones, we really wanted to add these to our buffet this Saturday.

Any recommendations who might be able to help us at short notice this would be hugely appreciated. 😊

We need your help with a very special community project ❤️

This year we are working on TWO separate projects for Remembrance Day, and we have set ourselves a BIG target…

🎯 1,000 HANDMADE POPPIES!

We’ve already received over 100, so we’re off to a fantastic start, but we still have a long way to go!

🧶 We’re looking for knitted or crocheted poppies in various sizes, and we’d love as many people as possible to get involved.

Whether you make 1 poppy, 10 poppies or 100, every single one will help us towards our target and become part of something very special for our community.

🌺 Can you help us reach 1,000?

Please get those knitting needles and crochet hooks out and help us make this year’s Remembrance Day projects something really special. ❤️

What a fantastic group of teenagers we had at our Universal Fund workshop! 🙌🧵✨

It’s great to see young people getting creative, learning new skills and having a go at something new.

They were all absolutely amazing and produced some brilliant items to take home, they should be very proud of what they achieved! 👏😊

👕☕ THE MEN’S DEN MERCH IS ARRIVING SLOWLY 😁

We’re starting to receive some of our new The Men’s Den merchandise and we have to say… it’s looking pretty smart! 👌

Polos, mugs, drink flasks, keyrings and more, all helping to give The Men’s Den its own identity and spread the word about what we’re building.

A free, relaxed place for men to get out of the house, have a brew, a game of pool or darts, a chat and simply enjoy some good company.

Every Thursday | 5pm – 7.30pm | FREE to attend
