💬 Collector Poll!
It's Fern here! 👋
I was chatting to one of our regulars recently, he's now on his third attempt at collecting one of every anodised cap badge ever made. He's completed the collection twice before, sold the lot... and then started all over again!
It got me thinking about habits and how everyone has their own way of collecting. Some like to focus on one very specific area, while others collect anything and everything connected to their chosen regiment, police force or even a surname.
So, what type of collector are you?
🔹 Police badges
🔹 Military badges
🔹 Medals
🔹 Coins
🔹 Something else entirely?
Or are you a bit more specialised?
👮 A one-force police collector?
🎖️ A single regiment?
👑 Victorian-era only?
⚓ A naval specialist?
🪖 One particular battle or campaign?
🪙 Coins and nothing else?
📚 Or a bit of everything?
As for me... I'm definitely a medal girl. Although I do quite like the WW2 economy badges. I don't keep many items because it's hard to justify when you're surrounded by them all day, but the ones that have stayed with me are usually the medals with particularly fascinating stories behind them.
If money were no object, I'd absolutely love a Naval General Service Medal with a Trafalgar clasp. I've always been a bit of a Nelson & Collingwood fangirl, so it's firmly on my wants list! 😅
I'd love to hear what you collect, why you chose that area, and what first got you hooked. Let me know in the comments, you never know we might have something not listed yet that's just for you!
