Last week you may have seen that I was with the amazing helping her run From Graft to Growth - the prep, the day itself and the actions for afterwards

It was something I was trialling

What an event!

Yesterday I spent the day in London with Rochelle for her event from graft to growth and it was such an amazing day!

Helping her with the planning, the gifts, through to the set up and running order of the day - I loved every minute of it!

The day was filled with incredible speakers and incredible people.

Such a joy to be a part of!

Well done Rochelle and to everyone involved - you made the day amazing ❤️❤️❤️

Connect the dots

I speak about creativity a lot - about using creative thinking - but what does it look like in practice?

Take customer experience.

Your experience means the world to us. It's why we work in a different way because we believe that giving you the strategy together with the products is the ultimate experience.

So when I was packing for I wanted to give Andrew and Pete something to remember the first time we were there doing their merch and the last time they were at Newcastle. So everyone that bought something on the day, we got them to sign this plaque and then gave it to them at the end of the event.

This idea shows them that we care about their experience with us.

And that was creative thinking that came up with it.

Every time I explain it to someone, people realise that they are in fact creative - so I am gonna give you examples every week to show you how to connect the dots to your creative thinking.

Mother Wants You to Win!

The merch question I get asked the most is "I've got an event coming up - what merch should I take with me"

And there isn't a one size fits all answer.

But there are 3 key points for you to think about.

1) What do you do?

Simple right?

Your merch should be relevant to what you do so that when people use it or see it, they think of you. This could be the product itself or what it says.

2) Who do you serve?

What do they want and need? There is no point in getting merch that your audience aren't going to like - so think about them first when considering merch. It's not about you!

3) What is your budget?

You can think of this in 2 ways - per product or overall. But you need to have a budget.

And even it's a very small budget - that's fine! You can still get sexy, relevant merch - you just have to put more of a strategy behind how you use it to make sure it concerts for you!

It's the same as your business

1) bland, boring and what everyone else does
2) made with love from start to finish - each piece different and quirky
3) you had no involvement - so you don't know how it works or what's in it

I love me some home made chips

And I love a unique and quirky business even more!

That's why our merch is done the way we do it.

Because your business deserves some quirky, unique and sexy merch! Where the details and outcome matters!

E1 of The Event Hangover

It feels like the right time to start this series as we are all back from ATOMICON!

There's a few important points to remember when leaving any event

1 - It's OK to rest!

If you need to take time to decompress, process, or have a nap - then do it! Events take a lot of energy and your mind and body likely need time off after an event

2 - Stay in touch with the people you connected with

And obviously after point 1, that doesn't need to be today!

But reach out to the people you connected with and continue building that relationship ❤️

3 - What were your biggest take away points?

If you haven't written them down yet, do it soon whilst it's still fresh in your mind - you don't want to forget the things you've learned over the event - so take a note of it in what ever way works for your brain.

4 - Evaluate
• what went well
• what did you enjoy
• what can you do differently at your next event

If we evaluate the event when it's finished, it will help us with our next event!

5 - What are you going to implement?

There is no point in going to an event to do nothing with the information and ideas you got from it. Block time out in your schedule to implement.

6 - Take action - because going to the event isn't enough.

What a ride!

This has been the most amazing 2 days meeting incredible people, getting to spend time with my amazing friends and being there doing the merchandise for the incredible Andrew and Pete

I am still blown away!

I'm gonna be a busy little beaver this week connecting with everyone I met there and cannot wait to continue with our conversations.
