At long last the finished photos of these boots!!!
No doubt these are going to be up there amongst my favourites for this year.
They had new storm welts with the faux stitched edge, leather midsoles and the stacked sole package using a brown wedge and the honey 1220 unit.

I did several pairs for this particular customer and each had a great story. Always nice when something has some history and significance other than just a pair of shoes 😁

2953 getting the “coffee” traction tread sole on the original welts. Rough out leathers are my absolute favourite and pair well with the softer tans & brown colours….. including this coffee sole!

Unfortunately I have forgotten what model these Red Wing boots were 😩 I know they are pretty uncommon as I have only done a couple with this silhouette! Regardless these had a total style change from wedge to full length sole and heel! A pair of red and black laces tied the sole colours into the upper nicely but some low key flat waxed black ones would have been nice too.

Absolutely loving the creativity and colour choices people are going for. Having personalised footwear is becoming more and more popular which is great for the industry and highlights the benefits of choosing footwear that can be resoled and maintained for a lifetime!

#877 boots getting the “vibram montagna” package in dark green with leather midsoles but keeping the original welts. Changing from a wedge sole to a sole with heel does require the addition of a shank in order to provide enough support… so even if the boots are pretty new they will need taking apart rather than a quick outsole swap.
If you are changing colours or tread patterns within the wedge sole options and the boots are still pretty new and in good condition then you can just swap soles! Saves disturbing the original stitching which keeps things neat but also means you are stuck with the original midsole colour….
