Yesterday I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and went to the theatre, did this cause me anxiety? 100%. We went to see A History of Paper at Pitlochry Festival Theatre, and it was amazing! ❤️
What I loved most was that for those 90 minutes, my mind completely stopped. No future planning, no obsessive thoughts, no worrying about what might happen next… just 90 minutes of being completely present and enjoying the moment. It was bliss!
Yesterday’s scan list was heavy, both emotionally and physically. I would estimate that I spoke to more than 25% of my clients about mental health in some way.
The comparison that comes with social media.
The fear of the day that may never come.
The constant “what ifs”.
The pressure we put on ourselves.
And that feeling that everyone else is somehow doing life better than we are.
I try as hard as I can to offer advice, reassurance and a listening ear… although I often wish I could listen to my own advice too! 😂
I’m not sure what is going on in today’s world where we seem to have forgotten how to simply be content. We’re always looking ahead, comparing, worrying, planning, striving and suffering from FOMO.
Maybe the answer isn’t to have a perfect life. Maybe it’s learning to be present in the life we already have.
I don’t have the answers, but I do wish for a day when we can all find a little more contentment, stop comparing ourselves to everyone else and simply stick to our own lane. ❤️
And if you’re struggling with your mental health, I would wholeheartedly recommend Lou. Sometimes having someone to talk to can make such a difference. ❤️
