Last Courses before the end of the year! Some of our November dates for Beginner Sewing have already sold out, but there are sessions still available!

Absolute Beginner Sewing 6-session course - Spend 6 sessions going through the basics, alterations, zips, and then 4-session sewing project of your choosing.

Improvers - 7-week course - Learn new sewing skills to upgrade your seams and finishes and learn skill to get started with pattern drafting for yourself

Introduction to Machine Knitting -Make a large triangle scarf - Learn some machine knitting skills, then make a neckerchief using our studio wools to choose your own colourways.

New availability for our improvers courses. We will be starting on Sunday eveings from the 18th of October.

The course is designed to both help you to elevate your sewing as well as start pattern cutting and making your own patterns

Week 1 - Seams
French seam, Flat Fell seam, bias binding visible and invisble

Week 2 - Hem & Trace a garment
Pin hem and blind hem. The start pattern cutting by tracing a garment

Week 3 - draft a bodice block
Using your measurments we will draft a bodoce from scratch

Week 4- 7
Project of.your choosing using your new skills

Taster days - Materials including a choice of high-quality wools and yarns.

19th September - Introduction to machine knitting - Make a small project of your choosing (Neckwarmer, mitten, socks, headband, hat, Neckerchief)

10th, 17th or 24th October - Introduction to Machine Knitting - Make a Neckerchief

Long Course
27th September - 10-2pm
Textile Techniques - Design and make a vest
Spend 5 weeks going through the different textiles a knitting machine can produce: lace, colourwork, ribbing, cables, tucking, then spend a whole weekend in the studio designing and making a vest.
All materials included.

An insight into how we make our knitwear, each step is local and hands on.

1. Wool sourced from a circular supplier in the Scottish Borders

2. Handmade using a vintage knitting machine. Our deication to using deadstock yarns means that we are only able to product a limited number of garments each colourway.

We make one sample piece then if there is still yarns available then we will produxe more on a made to order basis.

We have now added our knitwear online! Drop #1 is full of individual pieces handmade on a vintage knitting machine in our Leith Shop. We source our wool second-hand from a high-quality supplier. Due to the limited availability of the wools pieces are either one-off colourways or have a limited number.

🧵 Monthly Sewing Social at the Studio 🧵

One of our big aims is to make the studio a truly communal space — somewhere for anyone who doesn’t have the space to sew at home, or simply enjoys sewing alongside others.

We’re now committing to keeping the studio for communal sewing on the first Saturday of every month.

These sessions are all about bringing people together to sew in a relaxed, social environment. You can work on whatever you like, whether that’s machine sewing, hand sewing, cutting.

There are 4 tables available, with one table per person, giving you plenty of space to work on your projects.

This Saturday’s session:

Hello! Anne Morgan and I are at shop.withnoname until Sunday evening. We are having a grand opening drinks evening tonight from 7pm! The we will be open here 9.30-6 Saturday & Sunday. Come and check us out and find some one off upcycled finds!

Leith walk shop will be closed today and tomorrow then I will be back on Sunday morning

This month we have a new course option. We are offering a 4 week project guided sessions. This is for anyone looking to take on a sewing or pattern cutting project within a class setting. A great follow on from the beginners or can be a more advanced project than this.

We also have a couple of spaces on our classic 6 week absolute beginners courses starting Thursday evenings from the 13th. Covers basics, alterations, zips and a 4 week project of your choosing!

Hello! On the 7-9th of August, we will be taking over the .withnoname along with .morgan_designs! We are currently making a lot of new items to fill the space with all handmade in the studio using a mixture of circular & vintage materials!

On the Friday we will be having an opening evening, with drinks, dj mix and textile talks! It would be lovely to see a lot of people there! There is a loose theme of 'I made this!'. Encouraging you to come along in an item made by you! But no pressure if not!
