Important info for all my EU and Northern Ireland customers.
Due to Brexit, on the 13th of December, a new regulation comes in to force which is going to have a massive effect on my business and thousands of other small businesses in the UK! A third of all my customers are in the EU, so this will be a massive blow to my business and I can’t express my frustration at this outcome.
The EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) starts on 13th of December and adds obligations on all U.K. businesses selling non-food items intended for consumers into the EU and Northern Ireland. The new requirements mean that small businesses need to have a representative in the eu as a named point of contact on product safety and in addition to this full safety sheet on each item for each country. This simply isn’t possible for small businesses like mine.
So, what does it mean? As of today I will no longer be offering shipping to the EU or Northern Ireland, if you are an EU or NI customer and have an outstanding order I aim to have these shipped this week. If you are an EU or NI customer wanting to order, please message me to see if it is possible in the time remaining.
I am so sorry and I’m not sure what this means for my business going forward but like everything else Brexit has presented us with it’s another unnecessary huge challenge to work out!
