Here's an insight in to a couple of projects we worked on at yesterday's Machine Embroidery Network. Diane investigated how different fabrics and yarns work with the couching attachment and Anne embroidered on to a tshirt, learning about placement, hooping and most importantly which stabilisers were needed.
We all got loads of work done and had a lovely time catching up.

🪡My skill set has become more streamlined as I try to focus on what makes the most sense. Last year I learned to say 'no' in order to prioritise Bridal Alterations, and the overlocker workshops are still going strong 💖

✨️It's a privilege to be able to do what I love for a living, and I have the most supportive hype squad behind me making it all so much easier 🪬

📚 Last week I gave a sewing lesson to two very keen young ladies. They bought themselves a simple reconditioned sewing machine with a little help from , I found them some threads from my stash and they were off! We mostly covered how to us the machine and I gave them tips on how to sew in a straight line, we also tried button holes. 🧵
Hopefully they can find some time to practice then we can move on to some projects, maybe something with zips 🤪

I already had the green machine for eyelets so added some accessories to be able to make my own covered buttons.
I have a gown made of mikado satin that my bride would like buttons added down the train, so using the scan n cut with rotary blade I'm able to make the most of any offcuts of fabric from my stash. It's fiddly but totally worth the investment.
