We are the largest specialists in Ely town centre for dressmaking, needlecraft, quilting, and craft-making equipment. We are still a bit behind on our sewing bee watching, so this is a look at adaptive patterns. We have a few patterns with adaptive elements, but also we have a range of great tops that would be a great starting place for creating your own adaptive garments.

We’ve also been dreaming of our own colour drenched outfits inspired by the made to measure challenge! What colours should we pick for our statement fits?

We have a range of fastenings and other bits and bobs that can be used to adapt existing clothes, like super wide elastic, trusty velcro, snaps, zips and buttons in many sizes and shapes, and we are always happy to help find the right solution for you, so you are always welcome to come in and ask us for advice.

Brand new nursery rhyme themed fabric in the shop! A really lovely range, that would make a cute quilt for a new baby.

We always have a lot of customers making things to welcome new babies into the world: knitted cardigans, crochet toys, taggies, quilts and blankies, as well as practical items like muslins and bibs! What is your favourite thing to make for new little humans?

Needlepoint and Tapestry have been really popular this year, so we had to have a go ourselves!

We have lots of supplies, whether you’re using wool or embroidery cotton, as well as matching canvas starting at 8 count, up to 18 count (the count being how many holes per inch!)

This cute mushroom design came from the DMC website (which is packed full of free patterns for tapestry, cross-stitch, embroidery, crochet and more!).

The Great British Sewing Bee is back!

We’re very excited to have a weekly dose of sewing on the telly. Let us know what your favourite make has been so far?

During sewing bee season, we regularly pull a selection of patterns inspired by the show and have them available on our cutting table for you to browse.

We also have catalogues for Simplicity and McCalls and we keep these patterns in stock, if you have caught the sewing bee bug!

We have linen cotton blend with cute cherrie embroidered and drapey linen viscose blend in blue herringbone. Both would work for lots of our patterns in stock.

We’ve been very lucky to have a work experience student with us, who picked out these patterns for some dressmaking inspiration!
