Does anyone remember me posting feathers that had taken an age to paint?… well it then took me an age to assemble and then an age to post. Well here they are. I have several brace .. different shapes and colours that will be with me dollshouse at the end of November.

I tend to shy away from commissions but a friend asked. She has been an absolute rock recently; so what could I do. Sometimes you need a friend and sometimes you need a spirit animal. He was made with love and I hope he spreads this around his new home …. I couldn’t show the image she sent as a reference as it’s a licensed photo … but this is quite close

Ooh la la. 1/12 scale poodle will be showing off at the Christmas Kensington Dolls House Festival. He would of course be very happy to promenade on a sunny autumn day stopping to be admired at the cafe de Paris.

It’ll only take me a couple of days …. 5 days later 🤣 but so pleased with the result. I have made this wonderful scarlet macaw from individual feathers and mohair He will be on my stand at the Christmas London Dolls House Festival. He may have a play mate … he might not …

I call him done and name him Biscuit, just finished, 1/12 scale miniature. … Not a very strong name for a German Shepherd Dog but he can be renamed once adopted by a new owner. Our next show … where you can see Biscuit is Kensington Dolls House Festival, November 28th and 29th.

Yes it’s been shown before but what a beauty! Another automata that Alan brought back to life for me. Vintage washer woman by Geoff Lewis. I saw it, it was broken, Alan said buy it .. so I did and of course he fixed it. If you are interested in seeing more of these, Leonardslee Lakes and Gardens in West Sussex has a permanent dolls house exhibition with many of these automata and it’s a wonderful day out.

Alan has spent many hours over the years fixing other people’s Ken Palmer automata but today it was my birds turn to get a thorough service. Now both wings, tail and head move and she still sings beautifully. It always amazes me that such big engineers hands can work on such tiny items

Alan is multitasking today. Topping up the tan and finishing touches to the construction of the front of the Georgian dolls house shop front.

Colour is an odd thing. Looks completely different throughout the day. My favourite is evening time with a soft light … so I’m guessing I’ll be repainting it to try and recreate this soft cream colour in daylight. Still a lot to do to the outside of this house but it’s coming along.

In this heat paint has been drying before I can get it on the house .. no matter how fast I work. Adding Polyvine Ltd Scumble to acrylics gives you a lot longer playing time. You’re welcome 😉
