Lene, at the Norwegian Embassy in Paris. Such a cool wedding venue.
This dress was made totally remotely…measurements and toiles were posted back and forth between my studio and Lene’s home in Oslo. With the help of lots of photos and notes from her fittings, we managed to create the perfect dress for her, carefully packed and couriered to her door.
I’ve had several commissions like this, where the bride lives too far away to travel to my studio for fittings ( Santa Cruz, Sydney, New York…to name a few) but they would still like to commission a dress from me.
It has always worked very well 😊

Delighted to be asked to be on the judging panel again this year, for the prestigious awards.
I’ll be judging the bridal seamstress category.
A very deserving category, recognising the amazing skill of all those seamstresses and tailors out there.
If there’s someone you’d like to nominate, or you’d like to enter, just go to the official page and follow their links

I’m working on a new sample dress. Using cut out sections of antique lace as a kind of collage on a very fine tulle base, I’m creating a semi-transparent bodice…the gaps I leave empty are as important as the strategically placed motifs.
It’s taking a long time…placing, pinning, tacking and finally hand sewing it all into position…and that’s before I even start on the skirts!
But it’s a lovely thing to do on a Friday afternoon, which I’ve set aside to work on my own designs.
