RSPCA Sidwell Street Exeter Shop Charity shop in the popular City of Exeter, raising funds for RSPCA Little Valley Animal Shelter.

The RSPCA Little Valley Shop in Sidwell Street prides itself on selling quality items at great prices. It has a loyal team of volunteers helping to run the shop and is managed by Joe and Bex. We specialise in vintage homewares and clothing, when donations allow. And we are the home of Miss Babs and her dog Bob, if you haven’t met her it’s a must! We also love recycli

ng clothing and have a reduce, reuse and recycle clothing bin, perfect for craft projects. Feel free to message us if something takes your fancy, we can reserve items for 48 hours. And if you would like to become an Animal Hero we always welcome new volunteers to our team

We are one of six shops raising funds for the Devon Branch of the RSPCA, Little Valley Animal Shelter located on the outskirts of Exeter. The Shelter, founded in 1991, supports the work of local RSPCA inspectors by caring for and rehoming over 1000 of the neediest animals from our local area every year. Little Valley costs in the region of £10,000 a week to run and receives no funding from the RSPCA National Society toward the day to day running costs, this all has to be met from local fundraising which is why your support is essential to us. ☀️ This weather can be deadly for dogs.

Every summer, dogs are rushed to vets suffering from heatstroke, collapsed on walks, or left with painful burns to their paws from hot pavements.

The truth is simple:

🐾 No dog has ever been harmed by missing a walk.
🐾 Dogs can and do die from being walked in extreme heat.

If the ground feels hot to your hand, it is far too hot for your dog’s paws.

During hot weather, walk early in the morning or later in the evening when temperatures are cooler. Better still, skip the walk altogether if conditions are unsafe. Instead, keep your dog entertained with enrichment games, training, toys, scent work and plenty of fresh water at home.

Please don’t take the risk. That walk can wait.
