Let’s talk about meal times 🙂
Snack and lunch time at Tania’s Tots isn’t just about feeding hungry tummy’s!
Meal times help our children learn about routine and how to tolerate waiting, it is a perfect time for them to practice their independence and make choices. It gives staff the opportunity to talk with the children about what they are eating and what foods are healthy. They are encouraged to give bowls and cups to their friends, counting them and naming colours, and they are learning how to drink from open cups, cut fruit, use a spoon, and choose whether to have milk or water and pour it for themselves! Spillages are expected while they learn but they are all eager to help clear it up. Our meal times also are a great place to have a conversation about anything and everything and we are so proud how helpful and friendly our little people are to each other.
