Good Morning Lovely Ones 🩵

We hope you are all good and well?

Our last post regarding the ‘put by’ service, as always, has been a breath of fresh air to so many… something that we are always so happy about 💕

We have come into the shop today to plenty of messages and a good few phone calls enquiring about when that service opens and if it can be started any earlier. So just to clarify, it starts on Wednesday 1st July at 9.30am and closes on Friday 31st July at 4.30pm.

However, some people have found it helpful to know that we do have an account book at Rival… which is now open!! It means that you can come in and make payments of your choosing and affordability… so basically a savings option… which you can then redeem against your ‘put by’ reservation… or traditional purchase when you are ready to come in.

This is another, ever so popular service that we offer. We have noticed over the years, how many Grandparents, Aunties, Uncles…. Close family friends that are just as good as family…. Like to contribute to school uniforms for the people that they love… and so, this is a wonderful way to do so.

It’s always really cute when done in secret so that when the time comes to settle the bill, it’s partially or often fully taken care of… and then there has been times that members of the public have anonymously contributed, simply to pay a kind gesture forward and it has always been distributed with love and intention.

Honestly, some truly emotional, beautiful things happen in our little shop 🩷

Anyway, if you want to get started or get a little ahead before the ‘put by’ service opens, come in and see us. It takes 5 minutes and your ‘summer’ self, will thank you for it.

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND ❤️

Good Afternoon All 🤍
This is the post that so many of you have been waiting for regarding the return of our famous ‘PUT BY’ service ☺️

It will be back again this year throughout the month of July 👏🏻

For those of you who are new to this school uniform malarkey, this is especially for YOU 🫶🏻

The Rival ‘Put By’ Service is a scheme that we are so proud to offer, that enables you to reserve your school uniform and pay for it at the end of August. This is available to everyone, for all of our schools including plain uniform and dance wear. If we sell it in store, you can add it to your reserved bag.

This works by you bringing your child in, during the month of July for a full fitting. You will then choose what you need and want, pay a deposit to hold it and go about your summer with the peace of mind, that when you return at the end of August to pay for it and take your uniform away, your child will have everything that they need for starting or returning to school in September 🍎

The terms and conditions are as simple as this….

*Minimum spend £60
*Minimum deposit £20
*No Take Outs. You are committed to your bag. Once you have reserved your bag, we consider it sold and will replenish the stock for others. You can not remove items from your bag. You will only be offered a credit note or a credit in our account book in exceptional circumstances
*You must pay for and collect your bag by Saturday 29th August (due to the Bank Holiday)
*You are welcome to make part payments over the summer if you wish.
*You may pay for and collect your uniform early
*You will be given an itemised bill of what you have reserved and how much you have paid for your reference.
*You do not need an appointment to use this service.

We are so happy to offer this to everyone. The summer is a time for togetherness and making memories… and we love that we can help take the anxiety over school uniform shopping away as much as possible.

IMPORTANT!!!!

Hello to all of our wonderful customers ❤️ We hope this post, finds you well 🫶🏻

As most of you will know, we try our absolute hardest to keep prices as low as possible and try our best to help where we can… however… we are really feeling the pressure and the squeeze from rising costs and unfortunately, we simply can’t wish them away or ignore them!! we know that we have the most understanding customers in the world and you will understand that we have to make some small price increases to keep the business afloat. Rival has been toughing things out for 16 years now and we hope that you know by now, that we are not greedy business owners. We aren’t rich… and never will be motivated by unfair profits. We just want to be at our kids sports days and be present parents. Please know that even though the increases are small, we feel bad about it!!

We pride ourselves on trying to find solutions where parents find obstacles, especially in times like the summer that are intended for joy and togetherness. So we will be opening up our ‘Put By’ service again this year (more info to follow) and we will be freezing our current prices until 22nd June 2026… an almost early bird incentive if you want to lock in these prices.
