ONLY IN FAVERSHAM…

Interesting people finding interesting things.

A market where you might arrive looking for absolutely nothing in particular… and leave with a 200-year-old mirror, a piece of studio pottery, a Victorian curiosity, or an object you simply couldn’t walk away from.

The Faversham Antiques & Decorative Market returns on Sunday 7th June, bringing together traders, collectors, decorators, browsers and treasure-hunters in the heart of one of Kent’s most distinctive market towns.

No two markets are ever quite the same — and that’s rather the point.

This coming Sunday, Faversham steps back into the Victorian age.

From 10am to 3pm, Market Place and Court Street will be filled with the sights, sounds and characters of a traditional Victorian Whitsun Market & Fair - with Punch & Judy, wandering Dickensian singers, traditional market stalls, tarot readings, a Victorian coconut shy, fairground atmosphere and plenty more besides.

Expect music drifting through the streets. The occasional cry of “That’s the way to do it!” from the Punch & Judy booth. Costumed characters appearing around corners. And a town centre that suddenly feels as though it has slipped backwards in time.

The event is free to attend and forms part of a full day of Victorian-themed entertainment in the town.

Then, at 4.30pm, the day continues with acclaimed actor and writer Gerald Dickens - great-great-grandson of Charles Dickens - appearing live at The Assembly Rooms with an entertaining afternoon of Dickensian performance and storytelling.

Hidden treasures upstairs? Follow the signs…

This Sunday, 3rd May, don’t forget to look beyond the stalls at street level when you visit Faversham Antiques Market.

We’ll also have traders tucked away upstairs in the Guildhall, including Jaqui with her much-loved pre-loved and collectable books, Paul with coins, medals and militaria, plus a couple of new traders offering everything from objets d’art to silverware.

Just follow the signs and see what you discover.

A little moment from our last Antiques Market…

This short video was taken at the Faversham Antiques Market on Easter Sunday, and shows just one stall — from a trader who travelled from Lewes in East Sussex to join us for the very first time.

For a one-day, seven-hour event, the care and attention that had gone into this display was genuinely heartwarming. Every object placed with thought. Every detail considered. It’s exactly the kind of effort that makes this market such a pleasure to walk around.

And you’ll find this — and stalls just like it — back in the centre of Faversham this Sunday, 3rd May, for the Faversham Antiques & Decorative Market.

Expect antiques, vintage finds, decorative pieces, collectables, curiosity, craftsmanship and plenty of things you didn’t know you were looking for until you saw them.

We’re open from 8am to 3pm in the heart of Faversham.

And if you’re coming from London, it couldn’t be much easier: Faversham is on the mainline railway, and the market is just an 8-minute walk from the station.

A perfect Bank Holiday Sunday wander.

The next Faversham Antiques and Decorative Market is on Sunday, 3rd May - Bank Holiday weekend - from 8am to 3pm.

By then, the renovation works on the Guildhall will be underway, so expect things to look a little different to normal.

All your familiar stalls will be there along with, as always, some new faces.

Come along for a wander around one of the best antiques events in the South East!

On Sunday 5th April, the Faversham Antiques & Decorative Market returns to Market Place and Court Street from 8am to 3pm.

And while the supermarkets sit quietly behind locked doors…

You’ll find:

stalls full of antiques, curios and decorative pieces
traders who actually know the stories behind what they’re selling

🌸 Mother’s Day is this Sunday.

One of the loveliest sights at the market in the run-up to Mother’s Day is the flower stall - full of fresh roses and bouquets waiting to be chosen.

Amy's Flowers will be in Court Street this Saturday, and flowers are always one of the most popular ways to brighten Mum’s day.

And while you’re choosing something special, it’s worth taking a wander around the rest of the market too. You’ll find plenty of thoughtful ideas including:

• Local produce and deli favourites

One of the pleasures of visiting a traditional market town is the chance to browse, explore and occasionally stumble across something unexpected.

That’s exactly the spirit behind the Faversham Antiques & Decorative Market.

The next Antiques Market is on Easter Sunday, 5th April, but in the meantime we have our Charter Market three days a week - and this coming Saturday, 7th March, is of course Best of Faversham, our twice-monthly artisan event in Market Place.

Set in the historic heart of the town, it brings together traders, collectors and visitors who enjoy the thrill of discovering interesting pieces you simply won’t find online.
