I am the Knitterman and my name is Ben. I have been hand knitting for over 20 years. The first thing I knitted was a child’s Gansey and I was hooked from there. Now I knit for pleasure & commission. "Traditional craftsmanship is perhaps the most tangible manifestation of intangible cultural heritage. Safeguarding attempts should concentrate on encouraging artisans to continue to produce craft and

to pass their skills and knowledge onto others, particularly within their own communities. The skills involved in creating craft objects are as varied as the items themselves and range from delicate, detailed work to robust, rugged tasks."
