The clocks haven't even gone back yet and I've already had to put the big light on at four o'clock.

I've dug some knit wear out, the washing has stopped drying outside, and I've started that thing where I genuinely can't tell if it's raining or not.

I don't mind it, honestly. There's something nice about the darker months once you stop fighting them.

Thick jumpers, big boots, soup for every meal.

But it does all start to look a bit samey after a while. Everything goes brown and grey and black (including my wardrobe) and by November I look like a bit of a goblin.

Which is exactly why It's so cool having the metallics back. They're the one bit of shine in an otherwise sensible autumn outfit. Catch a bit of low sun on a walk and they light right up. Even on the properly gloomy days, they've got a glow about them

They sold out repeatedly over the summer, so I'm really happy to have them in again. Deep blue, aqua, silver, deep gold, glitter gold and glitter bronze are all back. Each one is handmade in small batches, so once a colour's gone, it can be a while before I see it again.

Still can't quite believe we own the place 🔑

If you'd told us back in lockdown that our slightly chaotic little office would one day be ours, we'd have laughed. It's not glamorous, but every box, bag and order that comes through it feels a bit different now.

This footage has been sitting on my laptop since the summer. It felt a bit too dark and moody to share in the middle of a heatwave - so I held onto it, thinking it would be perfect for October.

What I didn't plan for was the metallics selling out. And then selling out again. And then staying sold out, while I sat there with these photos and a low level of anxiety that they'd never get their moment.

Well, a restock arrived last week, and every single metallic colour is back in for the first time since June. Deep blue, aqua, silver, deep gold, glitter gold and glitter bronze, all together again. It feels a bit like the stars have lined up - just in time for the darker days, the spookier vibes, the witchier sparkles and the more cosmic shimmer

As always they're made in super small batches, so I can't promise how long each colour will stick around this time.

A huge thank you to and for capturing this essence - I've been dying to show it off for months 🧡

Confession time. When I posted yesterday about the metallics being back, I got a bit ahead of myself. The delivery had arrived, I was excited, the photos were ready, and I hit post before I'd actually finished checking everything through and putting it live on the website. So if you clicked through and found them still sold out, I'm sorry for sending you on a wild goose chase.

The good news is they're going back up this evening. If you signed up for restock notifications on any of the metallics, keep an eye on your inbox tonight, because that email is coming your way.

I'm genuinely so happy to have them back. They sold out over and over during the summer, and I lost count of the messages asking when certain colours would return. Deep blue, aqua, silver, deep gold, glitter gold and glitter bronze are all in this batch, each one handmade in small quantities, so once a colour goes it can be a while before I see it again.

I think they're even better in autumn than they were at festivals, if I'm honest. The evenings are drawing in, the light goes low and golden for about twenty minutes, and the metallics catch it in a way that makes you look twice. Pair one with a dark coat or a chunky knit and suddenly the whole outfit has a bit of life in it.

And with Halloween not far off, if you're planning a witch, a fortune teller, a disco vampire or something you haven't quite worked out yet, a metallic hip bag is a very easy way to level up the costume. Plus it holds your phone, keys and emergency sweets, which is more than can be said for most fancy dress.

I’ve been sitting on these photos since the summer, which is not like me. Normally I’d post something the second I’ve got it, but these felt wrong in July. Too dark, too moody, too much velvet for a heatwave. So I tucked them away and told myself October would come round eventually.

Meanwhile the metallic hip bags kept selling out. Then I’d restock them and they’d sell out again. Every time someone messaged asking when the deep blue was coming back, I’d look at these photos and think, not yet.

Well, a delivery arrived this morning and it’s officially October, so here we are.

I’ll be honest, I don’t know if they’ll fly out quite like they did before festival season. But I’ve got a sneaking suspicion there are a few of you planning Halloween outfits that need something shiny to stop them looking like you’re off to a funeral. And if you’re not dressing up, that’s fine too - I’ve been wearing mine with a big jumper and wellies and nobody’s said anything yet.

Each one is handmade in small batches, so when they’re gone they really are gone for a while. Deep blue, aqua, silver, deep gold, glitter gold and glitter bronze are all back in now.
