Baby Jane was founded three years ago, and started its days as Baby Jane Lingerie. Due to changes in the business and life it has recently been renamed and is now known just as ‘Baby Jane’
1) So, who am I ? I am Jayne, the founder of Baby Jane and the person who makes decisions about the business.
2) Why did Baby Jane
change its name ? I really did not want to change the name to much, but felt that ‘lingerie’ simply was no longer the right description for Baby Jane and the direction that I want to take it in the future. Lingerie is my passion, I love it. But, as an everyday girl I also love fashion, beauty and keeping fit and I felt that as they are both such a huge part of my life, then they should also be part of my business, Baby Jane. It allows me to be real and transparent, and for my customers, followers, staff or anyone involved with Baby Jane in any way, it helps them understand what it is about, and know that every decision made is with them in mind.
3) What is Baby Jane ? Six months ago I would have answered this immediately with ‘It’s a lingerie site’, we sell lingerie. We also blog a little about the lingerie that we sell, but even back then, this didn’t feel quite right with me and I started to get confused with which direction the business should go. As I said earlier, fashion, beauty and keeping fit are also a part of my life that I love, and it felt wrong that I was keeping the two separate. Originally, I thought about starting a personal blog but when would I have time and how would I keep the two from overlapping. I couldn’t. I did try for a while but it was impossible
4) Baby Jane Now -
We still sell lingerie, beautiful lingerie but we also now sell pole wear and fitness clothing. We sell this both on our online store www.babyjanelingerie.co.uk and in our new store in Fleetwood.
5) So what is really different ? I guess the main difference is that I am now also a blogger, vlogger and youtuber and will soon have set up ‘ The World Of Baby Jane’ where I talk about, show and interview guests about fashion, beauty and fitness and always try to do it in a ‘Girl, you can do this’ kind of way and I am constantly trying to find ways to bring lingerie into the everyday world. So many girls see nice lingerie as something for skinny girls, or to wear for men, dress up for the bedroom and I want to scream because it is so much more than that. Do you know, since I started pole fitness, I have seen girls and women of all sizes gain confidence and start wearing the skimpiest of pole outfits and yet they wouldn’t wear beautiful lingerie. My aim is to change this, I want women to buy a bra the same as they would buy a new top or pair of jeans and I want them to feel AMAZING however they wear it.
6) Baby Jane’s aim for the future ? I want girls to stop being scared of feeling s*xy, s*xy is confidence and confidence is good. Size 8 or 18, it is time to step out in the world and rule !
