Summer holidays are here. Whether you’re heading to the coast, the countryside or somewhere further afield, I’ve got the essentials covered.

A cap and sunglasses to keep the sun at bay. Face mist to hydrate during the flight or after a long day exploring. A candle to make any hotel room feel a little more like home. Then just add a great pair of shorts and your favourite socks, and you’re ready to go.

One of life’s biggest luxuries is time. And spending that time alone to eat, walk or just relax is often the most enjoyable. It’s what Sundays were made for.

Fresh from the London Textile Fair with so many ideas for future collections and designs, and even more incredible fabrics. There were some insanely beautiful cloths from Japan—true craftspeople whose attention to detail never disappoints—alongside the classic Johnny Szymanski fabrics you know, and some exciting new directions I can’t wait to explore, some that will definitely surprise you.

For me, every collection starts with the fabric. The designing comes afterwards.

STUDIO NOTES: Colour Inspiration.

When I think of lavender, I think of two places.

The endless fields of the South of France, stretching out beneath the summer sun, and the borders of a classic English garden, where it sits quietly among the roses, herbs and slightly overconfident bees.

It feels at home in both.

As a colour, lavender has a softness to it. Gentle, calm, almost nostalgic. In a garden it gives little pops of colour, but seen on mass across the fields of France, it becomes something much stronger. More vibrant. More certain of itself.

Run your hands through it and the scent seems to do exactly what the colour does. It softens the edges a little. Calms the mind. Settles the soul.

It’s one of my all-time favourites and, luckily, it’s in abundance in my own garden.
