A little personal news from behind PacaPod 💛

I’ve written and illustrated a book called Tender Seedlings, Wonky Feelings. It grew from my experience as a mum, trying to understand why the same world can feel so different to each of us.

Created for children aged 5 and up, it’s a gentle way to spark curiosity and conversations about big feelings, difference and what might be going on beneath someone’s behaviour.

Here are a few pages from the story. Tomorrow I’ll be taking signed copies to Appledore Book Festival, which feels quite surreal to write!

A very wet Sunday, but such a warm and wonderful community effort ❤️
braved the rain to film Barney to Beach, a brilliant event raising vital funds for Families in Grief, an incredible local charity supporting bereaved children, young people and their families across North Devon.

Huge congratulations to everyone who ran, walked, volunteered and cheered through the downpour. What a special day to be part of and what an amazing charity to support.

I recently visited The Labour of Care at The Whitworth in Manchester, an exhibition centring the voices and experiences of midwives and maternity healthcare professionals.

It made me think about all the care that surrounds the arrival of a baby, and the countless acts of care that follow.

The feeding. The changing. The packing. The planning. The remembering of everything, for everyone.

So much of this work is quiet and unseen, yet it holds family life together.

PacaPod was created by a mum, in the thick of that beautiful, exhausting chaos. Our changing bags were designed to carry more than baby essentials. They were made to lighten the mental load, bring calm to busy days and make caring on the move feel a little easier.

Because the people who care for everyone else deserve to feel cared for too.

The Labour of Care is at The Whitworth, Manchester, from 1 August 2026 to 29 August 2027. Entry is free.

Swim with Gaza ❤️💚🖤🤍

On Saturday 29th August at 9am, we’ll be gathering at Saunton Sands to swim in solidarity with the people of Gaza.

Together, we’ll be raising money to help children in Gaza learn to swim, offering them moments of freedom, confidence and joy amid unimaginable hardship.

Come and swim, paddle, support from the shore or simply stand with us. If you can, please wear red, green, black and white, and bring Palestinian flags or keffiyeh scarves.

This is happening here in North Devon. 💔

From 11 August, women will no longer be able to give birth at North Devon District Hospital in Barnstaple, with maternity services suspended due to unsafe medical staffing levels.

For many expectant mums, that means travelling to Exeter or Taunton, often well over an hour away, on some of the busiest roads in the South West.

As a baby brand born here in North Devon, we can’t just scroll past this.

Women deserve to feel safe and supported when giving birth, wherever they live.
