Morning troops... here's a genuine question for all my English pals. π«π·π
If I support France against Spain... does that mean I hate Spain?
Naw.
Does it make me a bigot? A racist? Or just a c**t?
Naw.
It just means, for whatever reason, I want France to win that game.
So when England are playing, why are some folk shocked that a Scotsman wants the other team to win?
Here's the thing... I don't hate England. I've got loads of English mates and they're sound as f**k. This isn't personal, it's football.
It's no different from wanting your domestic team's rivals to get beat. You don't want your rivals winning because you'll never hear the end of it.
That's exactly how a lot of Scots see England at tournaments. It's rivalry, not hatred.
I'd never expect an England fan to support Scotland, and I honestly wouldn't be offended if they cheered on whoever we're playing. That's fitba. That's the banter. It should be left there.
