Ai is everywhere, and it’s a problem.

Feeds across all social media is starting to be flooded with ai generated adverts, worse still these generated ads are starting to filter into real life with billboards filled with technicolour bile advertising food that can’t exist in reality.

Aside from the fact that ai will eventually end humanity, right now, not only is it actively polluting our water it’s stealing artists work in order to mimic. Styles that can take artists years to perfect. This year was the first time that we seen stalls at events selling ai created products. Coasters, posters and worse yet T-shirts. We’re all for people making a living but when it comes to design, there is a reason artists should be protected. EVERYTHING you see round about you has been designed by someone. Automating this process removes the intention and love behind the creation. Even a kettle has someone designing it with intention and passion.

We will NEVER use ai to create a design and our T-shirts will always be crafted by hand.

We’re not saying there isn’t a place for ai, but not at the detriment of the human race. The new ‘data centres’ are not needed and will only serve those who just want to increase their bank balances. Any new way to pollute the planet. Which is why we do our best to be as environmentally friendly as possible. What’s the point if these ‘asset strippers’ just want to tear up the plant?

Things have been a little quiet on the media’s recently. Our summer events have all come to an end and we’re just taking stock of what’s happening next.

There’s still plenty printing going on, for ourselves and others, working on a whole load of new designs for upcoming events and before the end of the year and beyond.

Totally unrelated to the usual tshirt stuff, we took the in-law to London for her birthday to see Voyage over the weekend. Suffice to say I want to immediately go back to see it again.

I’m not the biggest ABBA fan, I like their music when it comes on, prefer some of their more underrated songs (Eagle is amazing!!) but I honestly don’t know what my eyes just witnessed. It shows you how amazing things can be if you can do lighting well. The whole show is like a live firework of sound and colour!

I was quite intrigued about how the show was made, it looks to be something a kin to the technology in the sphere, but regardless of how, it’s looked real enough to me, the movements of the ABBAtars and reaction of the clothing is enough to cause wonder.

Sadly no filming is allowed during the performance, it’s probably a good thing, but means you can’t relive it as often as you’d like.

Just means we’d need to go back to experience it again. :)

The caber toss isn’t all about strength, it’s mostly technique. A caber can weigh between 20 to 50kg, but as the weight is along the length of the it can be tricky to get a proper balance.

The aim of throwing (or tossing) the caber is so that it flips the full length and land perfectly straight. 12 o’clock.

The toss is graded as to how many minutes it is to the perfect 12.

Bowhill Highland Games

The last games of the Scottish season and another we’ve never attended before. It’s a free event and has all the events you’d expect from the Highland Games. Here’s hoping the sun stays out. Apparently the ‘Big Man’ has been spoken to and it has been assured.

Blairgowrie (and Rattray) Highland Games.

Usually our last Highland Games of the season, but this year we’ve found another to attend. :)

I really like this games (even though the weather is usually a bit soggy). The usual Highland Games events, but loads of stalls, lots of variety, plus they have a dog show, where our wee guy won 2nd place in the best smile competition. It also has a unique tug-of-war. Rattray v Blairgowrie. At least 50 a side to see shich is the best part of the town.
