Can you believe that 7 years ago today the LAW website was live?! I remember pressing “publish” after 10 months of solid work trying to get everything up and running, learning how to set up a website and design and make my first collection.

Went to see the amazing film at the last night with and the onetime I didn’t have my sketchbook in my bag I was itching for it the whole time.
The clothes were so beautifully curated and styled which such elegant style 👌🏼

Thank goodness for .film for their work and post of the film as I managed to find some references.

Sometimes you need to close a door for another one to open and I really believe in this.

The opportunity came up for someone else to take over the lease and I knew almost immediately that it was the right thing to do. Not because the studio wasn’t working, but because sometimes you need to close one door to open another.

I’ve always dreamed of having a purpose built studio. A space designed exactly around how I work separate from home but close enough that I can be super flexible for my girls. Freedom to create and work with something that feels like my own and not just paying someone else’s mortgage every month. So when the opportunity came I jumped at the chance.

I will be working from home for a wee while, while I get everything organised for the next phase but nothing much will change. I will still have pop ups which I am in the middle of organising and which are in very exciting locations!

Slowly bringing bits from my studio home to where I’ll be working for the next week while. I’m actually looking forward to it, to be able to feel a bit less tied and restricted. To stick the dinner on for the kids coming home, lunchtime in the garden ☀️☀️
The last time I worked from home I had a 3 year old so this will feel a little less chaotic 🤭✌️🫶🏼

This Saturday 30th May will be the last pop up in my studio space at 267 Holmlea Road in Glasgow’s south side. It would be great to see you there!

What should the next batch be?
Shorts? Possibly some colour block options made from the end of rolls, or the gorg culottes that have sold out? It’s a tough one!

Why don’t we value sewing as a trade? It’s something we all need every day.
Is it because it’s traditionally “women’s work” or is it because fast fashion has utterly ruined our respect for the skill?
Is it both?

If clothes and the skills required were treated with the same respect as trades, clothing would be way more expensive, and if they were more expensive would we buy as much?
