This week felt like childhood again 💛

We love Millport so much… we turned it into something you can wear!

💙 It all started with a wee visit to the iconic Croc Rock.

💚 It’s a rite of passage to get a pic of your kids on it every visit, and that inspired these designs…

💛 This illustration is mixed media — watercolour, ink and acrylic, all collaged together with a sprinkle of digital magic.

❤️ Simple, bright and bold colours – just like Millport.

And the tees come in ‘Old Bairns’ sizes too… for the grown-ups still feeling the Millport magic 😄

PS. Available in black too, for a bolder look!

PPS. You can buy cards of these on the island - a wonderful wee shop well worth a visit!

We’ve just been to one of our fave places - Millport on the Isle of Cumbrae.

💙 We have been taking our wee ones since they were tiny.

💚 It’s about as close as you’ll get to an 80s childhood in 2026!

💛 One of the things we love most is the freedom to roam. This time, our two made a wee pal, and they all had the time of their lives while us grown-ups tagged along behind 😅

❤️ It just feels like the perfect place for kids to be kids - and mine absolutely adore it.

This week felt very old-school…

💙 My wee ones… making up their own rules playing chess.

💚 Me… working on our analogue activity packs.

💛 Simple play – it just feels good.

❤️ That’s what Bold Bairns is all about.

PS. We’re not anti-screen… just all for a good balance and a bit of old-fashioned fun.

Analogue Activities just feel better somehow…

💙 This week we’ve been working on our Analogue Activity Packs.

💚 They’re all about giving our wee ones a little taste of an old-school – and Scottish - childhood.

💛 I draw all the illustrations and graphics myself, so they take a bit of time to get just right.

❤️ Then comes the testing… my wee ones are certainly BOLD BAIRNS with their feedback which is exactly what I need! 🤣🤣🤣

I found my wee ones ‘playing chess’ ♟️ the first morning of the holidays.

💙 I remember learning it myself, many moons ago!

💚 I could never remember how to actually make ‘checkmate’ happen and win.

💛 Watching my 6y old shout ‘Checkmate!’ at every opportunity melted my heart.

❤️ This is the childhood I want them to have (alongside what 2026 has to offer!). I just need to get them both up-to-speed…

Or do I?! Did you play by the rules as a kid… or just make them up? 😅

PS. Two wee mice as I don’t tend to show my kids’ faces online - it just feels like something for them to decide when they’re older.

I was lost in holiday daydreams on Monday…and by Wednesday I was back to making again.

💙 I need to make some creative plans for our Easter holidays!

💚 This week reminded me how much I enjoy the simple side of creating.

💛 My two love being creative too, but sometimes I think they’d like a bit more freedom to just explore…

❤️ …without me hovering over their shoulders all the time. And that’s exactly why we make what we make at Bold Bairns.
