I realise I’ve been a little quiet on here lately — and I wanted to share why.
I was blessed to spend January in Australia with my daughter Amy, her partner and my beautiful 18 month old grandson, which was a truly precious time. Since returning, I’ve been readjusting to the winter here… and also gently stepping into a new chapter of my life.
It’s with a tender heart that I’m letting you know that I’ve closed **Avalon Cloaks**. I moved out of the Red Brick Building at the end of December due to the ongoing difficulties there and the uncertainty around its future (I’ll share more about my experience of that another time).
Packing up ten years’ worth of fabrics, sewing machines and creative treasures has been emotional. It represents a decade of dedication, learning, beauty and connection — and I’m so proud of what Avalon Cloaks has been.
If this news brings disappointment, please know I feel it too. This hasn’t been an easy decision.
And yet… alongside the sadness, there is also a quiet sense of rightness.
After ten wonderful years, I’ve been feeling called in a new direction. Now that I’m over 60 (how did that happen?!), I’m very aware that I want to share the rich and varied skills I’ve gathered over a lifetime. It feels like time to pass things on.
Before moving to Glastonbury, I worked for many years as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist within the NHS and in private practice, and as a Group Worker. I’m also a dedicated Priestess of Avalon (since 2009). Teaching and holding space is where I originally began — and I feel that calling returning.
So this isn’t an ending. It’s a reshaping.
I’m taking a little time to reflect and reimagine what I want to offer next, but I’m planning to bring forward workshops again — including ‘Sacred Sewing’ — as well as Spiritual Counselling, Tarot, and gatherings both online and in person.
Avalon Cloaks isn’t disappearing. It’s transforming into something that I hope will support you even more deeply — helping you grow in confidence, creativity and spiritual connection.
Thank you, truly, for your support, encouragement and custom over the last ten years. It has meant more than you know.
If you’ve walked alongside me so far, I’d love you to stay. This next chapter feels meaningful — and I’m excited (and a little nervous!) to share it with you.
Watch this space 💛
