A little reminder that when you support a small business, paying for the service provided is just as important as booking it.

As someone currently on maternity leave, I spend the little spare time I have while caring for my baby building my ironing business and earning a bit of extra income for my family. Every basket is completed with care, and I always do my best to provide a high-quality service.

What’s especially disappointing is when there have been no complaints about the service itself—just a missed payment. Knowing that the work was completed to a good standard, yet still not being paid for the time and effort that went into it, is incredibly frustrating.

Small businesses rely on trust and mutual respect. Paying for work that’s been completed isn’t just about the money—it’s about valuing someone’s time, effort, and commitment.

I think we all can agree we do this at least once a week 🫣 …

Running around the house trying to find the iron, Ironing board, water jug AND then the time to actually iron your outfit without being late all whilst the kids are screaming, the dogs barking and you’ve just about got one brain cell left 🤣

Stressful?

Let’s talk about crease release sprays vs. proper ironing 👕✨

We get it — crease release seems like the quick, easy fix. A few sprays, a tug here and there, and you’re out the door. In the moment, it feels like a lifesaver… but it’s not giving you the same results as a proper press.

Here’s the truth 👇

Crease release only relaxes wrinkles — it doesn’t fully remove them. That means:
• Creases can still be visible (especially on thicker fabrics)

Well… it’s time for a little reintroduction! 👋✨

My name is Beth and I’ve been ironing for over 10 years now, starting way back when I was 14 and my mum used to pay me for it (honestly, still one of my best-paying clients… inflation hasn’t kept up since then! 😄). I then started up my business ‘Expert Ironing’ for a handful of people 4 years ago alongside my full time cabin crew career ✈️

I never stopped ironing but have been a bit absent on my page! Hence the reintroduction. With the recent arrival of my little one 👶🏼 I’m now really looking to build up my clientele again and take on more regular work! 👗👕
