I CANNOT wait to share my awesome new pinny’s and shorty dungarees with the folk at Bearded Theory next week! They range in size from 6 to 26 and are beautifully made by my fair trade tailor in Nepal. And yes, they have pockets!

Who is it for?

I dye my clothes for everyone who wants to be themselves, for the colour lovers and the people who want something a bit different.

My stall is for everyone who has walked past a festival shop and thought “I bet they won’t have anything that fits me”, for the people who need a safe space where you will be accepted, for the folk who need 5 minutes sit down, a chat, or even a plaster for those blistered feet!

When I first started dyeing in 2015, I was not in a great place mentally. I was still employed as a train driver, but that was soon to come to an end. I started tie dyeing clothes for our two babies who were age 1 and 2, and the creative outlet occupied my mind from everything I was trying to avoid.

I loved the dyeing process and once I left my job, becoming self employed seemed like the next logical step allowing me to work around my mental health dips.

Since then my business has evolved into something I’m really proud of. I really believe in my core values, and each year I build upon them to make a better and more sustainable business.

So what do I make? Apart from a mess…

I make awesome, hand dyed tie dye. But it’s so much more than that. As an inclusive brand I try as hard as I can to dye clothes for EVERY body. As well as catering for babies and kids, my adults range goes from size 6 to a size 26, and then in hoodies and t-shirts I have everything to 5XL/size 32.

Since starting To Dye For 11 years ago I have mostly been a fat person, and I would have never have walked past a festival stall thinking “I bet they would have something to fit me in there”, and so it became hugely important to only bring in new lines of clothing if I could provide a full size range.

No one should feel shame about their body, and fat people like cool clothes too - believe me!

I have so much to do today. I’ve not wrapped a single present and our kids break up from school today so they need doing today.
However because this will be the last day I have to myself for a couple of weeks I’ve gone for a walk instead. 🤣
Presents can wait for a few hours.
