I love using coming book boards to store my fabric!
✅ Easy to fold all my fabrics to a uniform size
✅ Fabrics have enough structure to stand vertically
✅ Remove and replace fabrics without disturbing the others
✅ Acid free so they won’t damage my fabric

Obsessed with my latest fabric purchase 😍

As a recovering fabric addict, I’m trying to be more mindful about my fabric purchases. I’m aware of my fabric weaknesses (blues, mid-scale florals, natural fibres) and this particular fabric was ALL of them! 🫣

I remained strong and resisted the temptation to impulse purchase, adding this fabric to my Stash Hub Wishlist instead. If you haven’t discovered Stash Hub yet, it’s the sewing organiser app that my husband and I created together 📱

A perfect pattern pairing came to me when I was browsing my previous makes. Magic Mockup helped me visualise the idea, and I decided to buy it. Then the fabric shop had a 20% off sale! 🤑

I say this with a full heart: sewing changed my life! 🥰

I really miss my sewing machine when I’m away from home, so looking back on past projects is a great way to reconnect with my craft. Plus, it gives me a chance to celebrate what past me has achieved 👏

I started sewing in 2019, discovered they joy of making my own wardrobe in 2020 and started a sewing business in 2022 - what a rollercoaster! 🎢

These projects were missing from my Stash Hub (I know, such a poor rep for my own brand), so I had to add them - I can’t be having incorrect stats! 📊

They’re all from 2020 or 2021, when I was really getting into the stride of learning how to sew. Genuinely a life-changing time 🤩

Who are these Negative Nellies to tell you that you have too much?! 🙃

I’m Yvette, and I’m a firm believer that there’s no ‘perfect’ stash size that every sewist should aim for.

We’re all different. We have different spaces, budgets, sewing habits and sources of inspiration, so of course the amount of fabric that works for each of us will be different too.

What matters most is how YOU feel about your stash.

If your fabric collection makes you feel inspired and excited to sew, you’ve nailed it. Ignore the negativity and enjoy your amazing collection! 🤩

And if your stash is making you feel overwhelmed? That doesn’t necessarily mean you have too much fabric. It might just mean you need a system that works better for you.

That’s exactly what I’m here to help with: getting organised, rediscovering what you already own and falling back in love with your stash 💕

I’d say it has been a year of ups and downs, but it terms of sewing it has been mostly ups! How I love this hobby 😍

I’ve started making more for others - which is a good thing as my handmade wardrobe is overflowing! My family are always so excited to receive their handmade garments 🥰

I keep track of all my sewing with Stash Hub, the sewing organiser app that my husband and I developed together. Reflecting on my past projects is just as much fun as making new plans. Although it’s still 6 months away, I’m already looking forward to seeing my annual sewing summary with Stash Hub Wrapped 🤩

The reason your sewing stash is stressing you out ⤵️

If you’ve decided that ‘buying fabric and sewing are two separate hobbies’ you’ve created a disconnect between the fabric you’re buying and what you’re sewing. This means you’ve got lots of fabric just hanging about, making you feel guilty and overwhelmed and you’re unlikely to ever use it 😩

But don’t worry, you can fix it!
1️⃣ Destash any fabric that isn’t inspiring you (message me if you want to come to the swap I’m hosting with on 26th September)

2️⃣ Only purchase fabric that inspires you - ‘it was a great deal’ isn’t a good enough reason!

3️⃣ Record your project ideas so you don’t forget them. I love using the Stash Hub queue to help me focus on what’s up next
