This photo of beautiful British tweeds might seem a little daft in the middle of this week’s heatwave ☀️🥵… but there’s a good reason for it!

I’m delighted to be exhibiting unravel… a festival of yarn at Farnham Maltings on 11th & 12th September. A wonderful fair that celebrates all things wool & yarn. It’ll be my very first Unravel and I couldn’t think of a better event to bring along my favourite British wools and tweeds.

If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know how passionate I am about British wool and heritage tweeds. As Thread Festival takes place in June, I don’t usually get the chance to showcase them but September is the perfect time!

I’ll be bringing a beautiful selection of vintage and sustainably sourced wool and tweed fabrics including some truly gorgeous, high-quality pieces that would make stunning additions to your winter wardrobe or home.

I’ll also have my vintage and preloved buttons along with a lovely selection of trims and braids.

If you’re a fan of real wool, I’d love for you to stop by my stand and say hello!

Is there anything else you’d like me to bring? Let me know.

Just 4.5m of each of these dreamy vintage seersuckers with that perfectly crinkled texture we all love. Light, floaty, and full of summery charm—they’re simply waiting for someone to work a little sewing magic and turn them into a summer favourite.

You’ll find them listed online as ‘Semma’ along with lots of other vintage seersuckers.

Which one has your name on it? ✨🧵

Hope you’re all managing to stay cool in this heat! I have to admit, I’m not coping particularly well. 🥵

To distract myself, I thought I’d start sharing some of the vintage towelling fabrics I have available online. Most date from the 1960s and 70s with plenty of usable meterage.

First up is this lovely Flowers & Checks design – such a cheerful combination of florals and colour typical of its era.

Search online for my other vintage towelling. ☀️☀️☀️

That’s a wrap for another year!
A big thank you to all the lovely customers who came and visited my stand at Thread . I really enjoyed seeing & chatting with you all. Also thank you to those of you who came wearing your makes from last year’s purchases I get so much joy from seeing my fabrics made up. I didn’t manage to get photos of everyone but there are a couple of photos live today in my stories.
We always have so much fun at Thread and over the years there’s such a lovely community amongst the sellers and never enough time for a good catch up. Finally a BIG thank you to Caroline & the team , this is a such a well organised event and I’m grateful to be selected for it.
Yesterday was a day of rest, but now I need to unload the van.🫣

I hope to see you all again next year if not before. x

Not long to go now until I’m at Thread – A Festival of Textiles - this coming Friday 13th and Saturday 14th June.

I’ve been working really hard (and there’s still lots to do🫣) preparing for this event and can’t wait to share everything with you. I’ll be bringing some really beautiful vintage fabric, lots of which has not been listed online yet. A lot of my vintage fabrics were sourced from a European Fabric shop that closed and many of these fabrics were still on their original rolls in perfect condition - so some rare finds. In addition to vintage, I’ll also be bringing some unusual sustainably sourced contemporary pieces too. I’ll have a couple of tables with vintage trims & embellishments along with a wonderful selection of vintage and pre-loved buttons.

If you’ve never visited this fair before, I can highly recommend it. It’s one of the few events where very small businesses like mine can meet customers face-to-face and where you can browse, touch, feel and chat about fabrics. Take a look website for the exhibitor list as well as available workshops.
It’s a very well-organised & curated event and Farnham Maltings itself is like a warren with lots of rooms to explore textile treasures, you can easily spend the whole day there, with the café on site providing the perfect spot for lunch.

Farnham is also a lovely town with plenty of independent shops to explore, walkable from the venue. If you’re driving, there’s ample parking at the Farnham Maltings venue at reasonable rates.

So hopefully see some of you there, please do pop by and say hello, you’ll find me in my usual spot in the cellar.
