This Sunday was no great big hike as we had errands so we decided to go to the Hawarden Estate Farm Shop and what a fabulous find.

It was right up our street, with cool art scattered inside and outside, great fresh food, campfires, park and a nature trail for the kids.

Definitely worth a visit if your in the North Wales area and take a look at the website for some mega events.

Why does this boy think it’s the middle of summer… strips off the first chance he gets…

But it is crazy how mild the weekend was, doesn’t feel like Winter weather at all.

Lovely Sunday walk at Nant Mill Country Park, Wrexham. We walked through the woods to find the Plas power waterfall.

Think we may have destroyed a few brave dippers Instagramming moments by standing watching 😜 wishing we were brave enough to dive in..(didn’t have a towel, that’s my excuse anyway)

Managed to get the company of my 17year old which was nice as we walked and talked. They do say that walking helps with ease and quality of conversation. Which I feel is true, especially, when your trying to crack a teenager for information about them. 😁

I was happy, I was better prepared than last week and had full waterproofs as it was wet and muddy walk.

Happy Bonfire Day. We went to the Middlewich Cricket Club which did a fantastic display.

Hello,

So I have 40 copies of these awesome HKC Hiking Note Books to giveaway for free.

They are perfect for young hikers to record memories of their adventures. The pages have a trig point section, hike record section and stick/draw section.

These books were a test run and done by hand , whilst not perfect they are still pretty cool.

I’m now doing a new professional batch that will be eco-friendly. Hence the stock clearance. It’s seems a waste them sitting here 😁

If interested, please DM and I will get back to you ASAP, I would also appreciate if you can do the whole…

Follow, Like and Tag on the post.

And of course if you do you use them I would love to know your thoughts and tag a photo to be shared.

Thank you
Alison

My Happy Place 💕outdoors with the kids, exploring. Love this photo, we just about to tuck into a picnic whilst enjoying the views across the Peak District.

The boys always seem happier , more loving and calmer when they have been outdoors.

Don’t be put off by winter weather – going out into the mud and cold is highly beneficial to our immunity and general health

When your hike goes totally wrong… what do they say, by failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.

Our hike began in a unusual loving way, everyone holding hands, helping each other out, and sharing. Then the rain and cold wind came and it all changed instantly..

No waterproofs, no warm gear and limited snacks we got badly caught out out on the longer hike around Teggs Nose Country Park🥶🫣😬 kids had mega melts down and some snotty women telling me it’s too steep to walk kids up 🥺

Regardless, we did get some pretty dynamic views, so not all bad.

Teggs Nose is great family friendly hike. It has a extended walks around the base and it also has a pushchair and wheelchair friendly paths.

Have you ever been totally unprepared for a hike?

First mini summit 😁 and I think he feels proud of himself. Win! He walked all the way up and only asked for a carrier on the last stretch back to the car.

These toddlers are stronger than they look… 💪🏼 also impressed with the G running up the hills.

Old Pale at Delamere may not be the biggest of hills at 176m but it still offer spectacular views of the Cheshire plains and on a clear day you can see, Derbyshire, Lancashire, Shropshire and Staffordshire in England, and Denbighshire and Flintshire in Wales.

Autumn hikes are the best, aren’t they?… the forest was in full display of rich colours.

Climbing trees and throwing leaves, perfect autumn day out. 🎃🍂🍁

Walton Hall & Gardens is great value place to go with young kids. £3 parking, you get a walk, big park and a mini zoo.

They also have a cafe and other paid outdoor activities for older kids.

Here is mainly a of photos of E enjoying his new found freedom of not being in a pram or carrier… basically darting off in every direction 😂 any suggestions on toddler recall is welcome (like when you teach a puppy) 😜 #

My idea of hell… slot machines, glow up toys and fairground rides on a wet and busy trip to Blackpool light festival.

Kids loved it though and saw the most amazing golden light shining over the beach.

Love a beautiful bandstand, it dreamily makes think how they would provide music and dancing to the park users in the Victorian times.

It is said that the Victorian forefathers who thought that ‘good music would free the mind of urban griminess and humanise the industrial landscape’.

It sad so many have fallen into disrepair.

Queens Park in Crewe, however, seems to be doing a fantastic job in keeping the bandstand and the park in great condition all run by volunteers. 🙌🏻

We are struggling, really struggling getting Earl in his carrier (just literally screams in your ears and hits your head) so rather then forcing him we are currently looking for alternative low impact walks until he finds his stronger hiking legs. Queen park was ideal and fab for bike/scooter riding.
