⚠️ MISSING! 19 Scottish sock makers. Last seen fleeing the factory after the final parcel was despatched, looking suspiciously happy.

The social media lady has disappeared to an undisclosed location where WiFi is reportedly terrible and posting is considered “unlikely”.

The week before our factory shutdown is different kind of busy. Every order is needed “as soon as possible”, the tape gun becomes background music and Jason somehow covers more miles than most marathon runners!

It’s all part of the fun, right? Anyone else in holiday countdown mode?

We ignored the advice 😜

We close the whole factory for holidays so our team can all take a proper break. We choose to make our socks in Scotland, even when cheaper options exist elsewhere. We take our time, because we believe quality is worth waiting for.

And maybe the biggest one... We still believe people matter. Whether that’s the skilled team making each pair, or the customer who needs a little help choosing the right socks, we think good businesses are built on relationships.

Could we do things faster and cheaper? Probably. But we don’t think that’s what makes something special. The details, the craftsmanship and the people behind the product are what make House of Cheviot what it is.

Every workplace has its Friday traditions. Mine include avoiding the corner Ann insists is haunted (we’re hoping it’s a friendly sock loving ghost 🙏🏻), checking the snack drawer to see what will make Monday a little easier, and admiring all the orders lined up ready to be shipped next week.

We never thought we’d say this... Put your socks in the fridge. 🧦❄️

According to the Red Cross, cooling your socks before bed is a simple trick that may help lower your body temperature and make those warm summer nights a little more comfortable.

So while our cashmere bed socks are usually made for cosy winter evenings... This week, they’re getting a very unexpected summer job.

Over the years, we’ve become much more comfortable saying no. No to competing on price, no to chasing trends that don’t fit who we are and no to trying to be everything to everyone.
