A little hello • from Bran and I
How do you do? A little about me? I am a Cornish handloom weaver. I weave to celebrate natural fibres, slow and conscienscously-made goods. My speciality is Handwoven Textile Interiors and Adornments of pure British wool. I love to weave with Rare Breeds and a natural undyed palette in traditional patterns.
The loom upon which I weave, was designed and made for me by my partner Eric, a tall ship rigger, adding an extra magic to every unique piece. Each made to be treasured and enjoyed, for every day and life's rituals.
I love my loom. It offers me a way of singing about my surroundings in a timeless tangible way ~ of Tide, Tor and Folklore.
✨
When I am not weaving, I work for this wonderful charity Heritage Crafts, as their Grants and Awards Officer, advocating for makers across the UK. (Check us out!) Otherwise I'm out walking/ singing with Bran, or trying to grow vegetables and flowers.
🌱
It would be lovely if you'd like to come and say hello - as this weekend in particular, is the final few days of my first Cornwall Open Studios!
⚙️
I will be demonstrating and chatting on Friday 29th, Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st May between 11 - 5.
At the Old Smithy Workshops, in Mawnan Smith.
Maybe see you soon!
