If you’re a mum-to-be waiting for your baby to arrive, or a brand new mum wondering how this tiny little person is actually yours… 🤍

You spend so long waiting to meet them, and now you’re staring at their tiny toes, watching their little chest rise and fall, wondering where that hair came from and trying to take in every single detail.

You can’t wait to watch them grow, and at exactly the same time, you can’t believe that one day they won’t be this tiny anymore.

That’s why I love making tiny personalised cardigans for your bubs. Their little name, embroidered onto something that fits for a few short weeks and then becomes the baby keepsake you can hold up and remember the smallness long after they’ve outgrown it.

Because you can’t keep them tiny forever.

But you can keep some of their tiny things. 🤍

Save this if you’re currently waiting to meet your baby, or soaking up those newborn days.

To be fair we've had a really lovely eclipse evening - the twins and myself, and a bunch of neighbours from the road went to the end of the street for a better view.

One Neighbour had some of the proper glasses so we were all able to look at the Sun and watch the eclipse through them, as well as all having a bunch of cereal boxes and foil in tow!

We kept the TV on just to catch what's happening around the world - It's been pretty fun 🥰

Five years ago, I wasn’t looking to start a business.

I was eight months into life with twins, surviving on broken sleep, washing bottles and trying to work out how the old version of me had managed to completely disappear into thin air!

What started with embroidering names onto the little cardigans Grandma Shirley knitted for the twins, slowly became something much bigger.

I loved having a creative outlet and the challenge of learning some new things, and when I started the shop and was chatting with customers, it started to feel like a small piece of my old self was still there after all.

Five years later, I’m still embroidering names every day, and I still can’t quite believe that a whim during nap time turned into this little business.

Thank you for joining me, If you’re choosing a baby name, getting ready to pack a hospital bag or trying to make the baby days last a little longer, you’re in the right place 💛

If you’ve finally found the name and suddenly everyone seems to have an opinion.

Apparently it’s too popular. Too unusual. They knew someone at school with that name twenty years ago. Their neighbour’s dog was called it.

And meanwhile, you’re sitting there thinking, yes, but this is my baby.

It isn’t because you’re stubborn or unwilling to listen to advice. It’s because you’ve spent months imagining this tiny person, saying their name in your head and quietly falling in love with it long before you’ve even met them.

Sometimes, choosing a name isn’t really about finding the “perfect” one. It’s about finding the one that feels like them.

If you’ve found your name already, protect the excitement. You don’t owe anyone an explanation for why you love it!

Tell me, are you sharing your baby’s name before they’re born, or keeping it a secret? 🤍

Little Name Knits continues to survive the heatwave of 2026!! ☀️🕶️

Am I worried that it's been a little bit quieter than normal over here?

sometimes, but I know that it's the summer holidays, people are away, out enjoying days out with the family, and it's been very hot.

But, this is England, and sad as it is this heat is not going to last forever, your baby will still need a cardigan and I will still be here to personalise it for you 💛

I've got lots of gorgeous cardigans in stock just now and more on the way as well this week!

Do please message me if you need any help. I'm always on hand to answer your questions, help you decide on colour ways, I just can't pick the baby name for you!

Spend five minutes online when you’re thinking about another baby and you’ll find someone insisting that two years is perfect because they’ll grow up together, and someone else suggesting a bigger gap because the eldest is more independent

Everyone seems incredibly confident that they’ve got it right.

But our children's age gap isn't always a choice we get to make. There's life, money, career, house size, fertility, loss, relationships, separations, health, and sometimes simply not feeling ready yet.

And then parents worry - Have I left it too long? Will they be close? Have I got the timing wrong?

Maybe I’m biased, because I’ve experienced both extremes.

My twins are two minutes apart, while their older brother is nineteen years older!

The twins have never known life without each other, but their big brother has a completely different relationship with them. He chats to them, makes them laugh and, every now and then, gets roped into babysitting. Bottom line is they adore each other

They’re proof to me that closeness certainly isn’t created by an age gap (my twins fight like mad!)

A small gap doesn’t guarantee best friends, and a large gap doesn’t guarantee distance. Children are people, not maths.

There is no magic number.

What’s the age gap in your family? I’d love to know whether it’s what you imagined it would be.

Throwback to the weekend my brother drove 4 hours (from Essex to Sussex and back to Essex) to collect us because our car wasn't big enough for all our stuff 🫠 (and then did it again 2 days later to drop us home)

Somewhere along the way, we’ve been made to feel like every box has to be ticked before baby gets here.

The nursery finished.
The hospital bag packed.
The perfect name chosen.
Every tiny outfit washed and folded.
New car...

It’s no wonder so many parents feel overwhelmed before they’ve even met their baby.

We barely had a thing ready for the twins, it was covid 2020/21 so all much harder anyway. We had no cot built, (I had to trust hubby to build this while I was in hospital!) we had no clothes that fitted because the twins arrived early… my mum put out a plea on a local Facebook group for premmie clothes…. Not to mention the tiny Seat Ibiza I drove at the time....

so what I guess I want to say is - we survived not being 110% ready - and I am definitely someone who likes to be organised!

So if you feel like preparing for baby has become a bit of a race, and there's still things left on your list, then please give yourself permission to leave a few things til later, and make space for one of the biggest moments of your life 💛

I promise it will all come together in the end x
