This weekend we attended the annual International Women’s Day Dinner held at the celebrating women in the armed forces.

We were invited to display our business and join the dinner where we listened to guest speaker Major Natalie Taylor recount how she lead the first “all women” expedition though the Antarctic and later the South Pole.

This was an inspiring evening, where we met an abundance of incredible women who we hope we will be able to work with in the future.

Thank you to Sally Hobbs, who organised the evening and invited us to partake. It was a privilege and a pleasure 🤍

The HAC Band and Corps of Drums 🎺 🥁

Hello, and welcome to another instalment to our Gold Braid Series. 👋

I’m Lotte, one half of Leah May Tailors, and in this video, you can see how we stitch braid onto the cuff for a Sergeant in the Honourable Artillery Company.

We use gold russia braid, which is specifically designed to curl with ease under the machine.

Here you can see me form a ‘trefoil’

This means, 3 overlapping spheres, which is created through over/under sequences with the braid.

After the braid is complete, we can go ahead and construct the sleeves.

As always, Trinity House is some of our favourite tailoring to do, the gold braid stuns upon the sleek silhouettes of traditional British Dress.
