I created this piece for an upcoming wedding!
I used a burgundy wool felt from and blocked onto the heart shaped percher by
The wedding is the day after Valentine's Day so I thought the heart shape in a rich red/purple tone would be the perfect base (it also matches my dress perfectly). Trimmed with felt leftover from the blocking process and curled pheasant tail feathers.

My lovely client has now attended the wedding that this fascinator was for and she has very kindly allowed me to share it with you.
As there was some distance between us, all of our consultations were done via message and many pictures!
I was able to colour match from photos of the outfit and nothing was stitched in place until my client was completely happy.
I loved making this piece and there's no greater satisfaction than a happy client!

I absolutely adored making this Snitch percher for a very good friend of mine. I love using the countryside as my main influence when I design hats but as the very wise once said to me 'If you have an idea and then find a way to keep it on your head, you can make it a hat'.
I'm always happy to take on a challenge so bring me your ideas and let's see what we can create!

I actually managed to block this on a real pumpkin using blocking cord and pins, an experiment that paid off!
