It’s been a while since I posted! Much has happened at Crafted HQ with children heading to uni and College, however there is always time for sewing. My little alterations and sewing side hustle has really taken off and I couldn’t be more grateful to all who put their loved clothes and fabrics in my care.
Right now, I’m working on a huge commission to make some beautiful napkins for an autumn wedding. There’s something wonderfully reassuring about the mathematical purity of sewing hems on a square, perhaps it’s the scientist in me?! Either way, I’m in my happy place this afternoon! Isn’t this fabric stunning?

I know that the lovely lady who once owned this fabric will approve of its use - she was a scientist and so it was only right and fitting that I should make microscope covers with them.

What is so special about these is that they are made with fabric given to me by a dear friend who very sadly passed away recently. And I know she will approve of their use!

I absolutely love the Spring, all the flowers in bloom and birds tweeting cheerfully. It’s also the advent of the Prom season - maybe because I have a house full of boys, but it’s a time that makes me very excited about prom dresses! Being asked to adjust a treasured dress for that all important night is such an honour and one I’ll never take for granted. This gorgeous red layered prom dress will soon be finished and hung ready for the big day. I wonder what colours will be popular this year?! And why didn’t Prom feature when I was at school?!
