Unfortunately, after 4 and a half years of selling vintage clothing in Holmfirth I have decided to begin close down on the shop and start work on other projects.
After suffering 2 years of constant roadworks and disruption to trade, a rapidly diminishing customer base and now a £200+ increase in business rates as well as other rising costs, it is no longer feasible to operate on a loss so I have had to make a decision to begin the shut down.
The last year has been an extremely challenging and stressful period with no money being made and all savings and investments being drained out of the business to keep it afloat. Customers have vanished, the town is a ghost town during the week and I can no longer keep operating making no money except on a weekend.
I will be selling everything off cheaply over the next few weeks to try and clear all existing stock and fixtures and fitting, rails and mannequins etc.
I am currently working on a new project for the premises for the remainder of my lease which does not involve retail, but this requires funding to help the vision progress.
If there are any vintage buyers than would like to bulk buy clothing and accessories in large amounts (only) or shop fittings etc. Please get in touch.
Thanks to all our customers over the years, but sadly it is time to say goodbye to Holmfirth Vintage and concentrate on new projects.
