at Birkenhead Central Library, Borough Road, Birkenhead, CH41 2XB

In April, we'll be at our regular venue of Birkenhead Central Library, but a week later than usual and in the morning instead of the afternoon.

Please don't turn up on the first Saturday in April as not only will we not be there, the whole library will be closed for Easter!

Oh Hello!
If you have followed for a while you may know me! I am Nicola & I run from my colourful, creative, inclusive & accessible Design Studio in Moreton Cross, Wirral CH46 8TH We specialise in teaching anyone who wants to learn to sew with accessible tools & equipment. All our free to use fabric is donated & many of our sewing machines are too. Each machine has a human name. some machines are named after previous owners 🥰 Huge thanks to everyone who supports Quilt Stitch Social 💝

My Penny Candy Coat got amazing feedback from the wonderful people at and amazing feedback on my forms from the judges too 🥰💖⭐️🌈 Massive thanks to Amy for sending me her scrap fabric & there will be a sister quilt coat on the way to her in time for the chilly weather 🌈🖤🤍 I had an absolute blast wearing it on the catwalk and I’m so grateful to my fabulous who cheered us all on! The sewing community is truly AMAZING 🤩 💖 bamboo wadding was used threads Best Press iron

Day six challenge by the very wonderful Top 3 Sewing Notions number 1 mine is an old Bernina, they’re are my absolute favourites machines and I’ve never met one I didn’t love! Also a gorgeous friend using it is essential too 🥰💖 I do warn anyone I let on a they will want one! 😂 number 2 is a ridiculous handmade decoration made using off cuts of a recently made frock. It can be anything but a flamingo is a great place to start. Number 3 and this one is absolutely vital.. good cake, no exceptions or excuses at all. 🍰

Day One of Introductions Hello! I’m Nicola I’m a teacher & I have my own Design Studio in Wirral where I teach adults & kids to sew & quilt, I specialise in gentle teaching & supporting people with additional needs to learn to sew. We run entirely on donated fabrics 😍 My studio & equipment is accessible & we even have a Disco Toilet too! I will be at this years I’m also stewarding and will be wearing a sash & white gloves 🥰🤍 I have long pink hair & lately it’s been up in space buns as it’s so warm.
