VENUE CHANGE: Huddersfield Stitch Social will now be at The Sportsman this evening - Thursday 22nd October, 6-8pm.

We'd love it if you could join us. Bring your hand-sewing, quilting, patchwork, knitting, crochet, felting - whatever you're working on!

We ask for a £2 donation to contribute towards running costs.

A lovely day in Wakefield, with Julia and Holly taking our Glow Up! High-Vis Accessories workshop to the Reclaim Our Parks event by Evergreen Active CIC

Upcycling donated high Vis jackets into reflective and bright badges, decorations and accessories to add to jackets, bags, bikes etc, helping people to be safe and be seen in the dark.

On World Circular Textiles Day 2026, we are launching the first ever Circular Textiles Directory for in West Yorkshire.

This booklet lists the people and places in Kirklees providing services to keep textiles in use for longer.

With over 80 services listed across 10 categories, we have deliberately looked beyond the charity shop to connect up services and community initiatives that focus on textile repair, alteration, exchange, reuse, upcycling and more.

Copies are available from our pop up in the Packhorse Centre in Huddersfield.

Don't miss Thread Republic's final event of its Sustainable Fashion Week 2026, a film screening of Fashion Reimagined, in collaboration with Electric Theatre Cinema at The Civic in Slaithwaite.

Friday 2 October, 6 - 9pm.
The film follows Amy Powney, a daughter of environmental activists, during her trajectory from outsider to industry leader as she sets out to create a fashion collection that's ethical and sustainable at every level.

We’ve got a change of plan for tomorrows Craftivist Stitch Social! We were meant to be at HIVE Cooperative Café , however they’re redecorating and it’s taking longer than expected. So we’ll be at our pop up shop in the Packhorse Shopping Centre, at the slightly earlier time of 5:50-7:50. Join us to embroider patches focusing on resistance, the theme of Sustainable Fashion Week this year is Threads of Resistance, so to coincide with this we’ll stitch slogans on this theme. Get your free ticket here:
