⛔️ update alert 🌦️ It is with regret that the organisers of the Turriff Show will close the show at 12.30pm today, Monday 4 August, due to the weather forecast.

From 2.30pm there will be limited small vehicle access to the show-ground. All heavy and agricultural machinery must remain until 5.00pm.

Show President, John Ledingham said: “the safety of our visitors and exhibitors is our priority at this time. Thank you to everyone for your understanding and support, we are as disappointed as I know you will all be, but we have to take the cautious approach for the wellbeing of everyone.”

Thank you to everyone for supporting Purple Threads!
Unfortunately with the current Amber warning, tough decisions needed to be made. Last night the stall holders in the shopping mall were told that if the wind reached above 50 mph we would not gain access for safety reasons.
We decided last night to take everything home and await guidance.
We were told information would be given via social media but as far as I can see there is a distinct lack of information.
Having phoned the office, I was told the situation is being monitored although the show is open.
Purple Threads will not be there today but we will use the time to catalogue and photograph a years work to bring you the items via our e-shop.

Purple Threads aims to tackle the waste incurred by fast fashion, by using re-purposed cloth and haberdashery to create unique and ethically produced garments

Come and see us at Purple Threads in the Shopping Experience tent at Turriff show next Sunday / Monday.
The Shopping Experience is near the car park so if you are coming in from the car park it is on your left hand side immediately past the funfairs. If you are coming from the boating pond side...just keep walking till you run out of park!
