I have been sewing for over 40 years and have a City and Guilds Level 3 certificate in Design and Craft - Patchwork and Quilting and last year started working towards my City and Guilds Diploma. I started doing patchwork 10 years ago, and then did a series of workshops to improve my techniques. I found I enjoyed the workshops so much I signed up to do the City and Guilds to give me a more in-depth
understanding in both practical sewing techniques and design. Since then my hobby has taken off and I have my own sewing room in which I create a wide range of quilts, wall hangings, cushions, bags, 3D boxes just to name a few. I do a wide range of machine patchworking, including free motion stitching and appliqué. I like to hand finish my items and create my own embellishments like Suffolk Puff (flowers) and Japanese lilies. I like to use recycled fabric and have used old denim jeans to make beautiful boxes and other old dresses and shirts for making crazy patchwork wall hangings. I would like to share all I have learned over the last 10 years with anybody who would like to learn this interesting and diverse hobby. I will be offering a range of courses from beginners to more experienced sewers who would like to learn a specific technique.
