This Victorian pine coffee table has been in the same family for the last 40 years, and before that it came from a primary school in Cambridge. Probably started life as dining table and has been adapted over the years, it’s now a fantastic coffee table full of genuine character and a lovely warm pine patina.

We love pieces with a story, and this one has certainly seen a few chapters.

We picked this up in a local charity shop. The original owner must of smoked about 60 f**s a day to get enough coupons to get it in the 90s.

At this size, (L 220cm W 59.5cm H 101cm ) it’s pretty much a lift it in and you’re done kind of job. If pine isn’t your thing, a coat of paint or even swapping the top for marble or a composite worktop could completely transform it… and still cost far less than buying a brand-new fitted unit.

Sometimes a bit of imagination can save you thousands.
