The way this gown had been constructed meant the usual method wasn’t the best approach, so I took a different approach to achieve the fit and support it needed.

Sometimes the best alterations aren’t about following a process, they’re about understanding the gown itself.

Why do wedding dress alterations feel expensive?

Because they’re not small adjustments.

Most gowns need to be opened, reshaped, and rebuilt to achieve the correct fit. Layers are handled individually. Structure is adjusted. Lace and embellishment are often removed and reapplied by hand.

What looks minimal on the outside is detailed, technical work underneath.

This isn’t a quick fix and it isn’t priced like one.

You’re paying for the skill, experience, and time it takes to do it properly.

You’re investing in the process that allows your gown to fit as it should.

Most of the time, it’s simply because the process is still unfolding.

A gown is adjusted in stages, and it’s only towards the end that everything begins to feel as it should.
